Our research spanned the two years from March 2018 to March 2020, mostly before the impact of COVID-19 lockdowns on cities and transport around the world.

At the time of writing, it is too early to say how things will play out in the future, and whether COVID-19 represents a temporary disruption to developments already underway or whether it will trigger a fundamental shift to a new reality. We believe, however, that applying lessons learned over the past several years will help cities and their transport systems thrive in a post-coronavirus world.
